About Me

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! Taking that step is a big deal.

My name is Louise, and I'm here to help you get to know a more authentic and present version of yourself, through the lens of your experiences. Sometimes,  we just need someone to see us as we are, and to help us understand all the different parts of ourselves- in order to live our best lives.  I work within the context of a respectful, safe, client-centered therapy space, in order to facilitate growth and healing.

This is a practice devoted to liberation for all. What that means is that as a person and as a clinician, I  strive toward modeling a life in which we live together in healthier, more authentic, and more inclusive ways, every day. This is a neurodivergent-affirming, disability-inclusive space, and a sex positive practice.

I graduated from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco with a Masters of Arts in Integral Counseling Psychology. I also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Florida, Gainesville.  I've been practicing psychotherapy in San Francisco and around the Bay Area since 2012, and I am also licensed in Texas.

My practice integrates a mind, body, spirit approach to integrated healing. I find that a felt sense of safety and a regulated nervous system is inherent to healing, and that when we feel safe and seen, we are able to discover and understand things about ourselves we might not have thought possible!

Before becoming a therapist (CA LMFT #113358, and TX #205541), I worked in the independent music industry, in London, UK, NYC, and then San Francisco. I delight in seeing how people express themselves!  I'm a lifelong artist who uses multiple media to express myself-painting, dance, music, play. Whatever your medium, expressing oneself in an authentic way, while navigating your life, is healing.

I became a therapist because I love working with people and hearing what lights their spark! I've been doing advocacy work and activism in one form or another since the early 1990s, speaking up for human, animal and environmental rights. Helping people to understand and speak up for themselves was a natural addition for me :) Watching the healing process unfold as I witness people in this work is an honor and a precious gift! Let's see what lights you up!

I've been working with individuals, couples, kids, and families in the therapy room since 2012, in both private practice and agency settings, before starting Flipside Mental Health. I'm an active advocate for Kinship care, and the rights of people raised in the adoption and foster communities. I have a deep understanding of family separation and the issues that arise around adoption, foster care, kinship care, and other relationships within families that are not "traditional" nuclear family systems.

I appreciate that families can look a lot of different ways:)
